This party had so many good photos that I

In January BJ
performed at a school for indigenous indian (Mixteca) children outside of
Melaque, Mexico. The children work in the fields during the day and get what
schooling they can in the evenings.
I had visited the school the evening before to get a tour and meet some of the
teachers and children. The school feeds the kids their only real meal of the
day. The kids were very open and playful but apparently that is a fairly new
development since the school opened. I gave the school posters and other photos
to put up so the children could see who would be visiting the next day. Nobody
seemed afraid of the clown but since they'd led somewhat sheltered lives they
didn't really know how to respond to a lot of the show. However I had a great
translator who knew how to help the children understand what was expected. It
was great fun and I hope to return.
